Kalamkari is the traditional art of fabric painting that is widely popular in the Iranian city of Khorzug in Isfahan.

Known as the capital of Iran's Kalamkari tablecloth, Khorzuq is home to over 80 traditional workshops where the art of Kalamkari is pursued by young innovative artists who bring beautiful colors on cotton fabrics.

Kalamkari is a type of hand-painted or block-printed cotton textile with the use of natural dyes only.

During the historical Safavid Era, the traditional Kalamkari tablecloths were at their flourishing age. Now, this art is used to adorn not only the tablecloths but also the clothing of women and men.

These exquisite art works are greatly sought after by domestic and foreign tourists, and a part of Iran's handicrafts export is made up of these tablecloths with a thousand patterns and colors of Kalamkari.
